THE KASONGO BAND SOUND: In Zimbabwe, there was a band called Kasongo Band that had a very distinct sound during the early 1980s.Its the same band that included Mkoma Ketai,Knowledge Kunenyati and Marko Sibanda. They got their name from their most popular song, a cover of the 1977 Congolese song "Kasongo" by the Kenya-based Congolese group Super Mazembe Band. We are all aware that this song has gained renewed popularity as a result of its inclusion in various comic wathog videos on social media.
