A suspect is in the hospital after an eight-hour standoff involving evacuations, an attack, and a shooting unfolded in Lakewood Wednesday. According to the Pierce County Force Investigation Team (PCFIT), Lakewood Police Department (LPD) officers were involved in a shooting while trying to arrest a burglary suspect. The LPD said around 9:10 a.m., officers responded to an area near the Pick and Pull auto salvage yard, located in the 2400 block of 112 St S, for a report of a burglary at a business.
