The Palace of the People in Bucharest (now Palatul Parlamentului) is one of the largest administrative buildings in the world and was built under Nicolae Ceaușescu in the 1980s. It is considered a symbol of the regime's megalomania: gigantic, ostentatious and extremely expensive.
